Café
Oporto is open seven days a week from 11:00 until 01:00.
On Friday and
Saturday nights we stay open until 03:00. Our
beers are provided courtesy of the Heineken Brewery and of course
include the traditional
lager,
as well as a dark beer called De Koninck and the white beer Wieckse
Witte. We also serve a range of bottled beers.
Our
draft beers are served in the traditional Dutch
measures: the
‘fluitje,’ a small straight glass containing 20cl of beer, the
‘vaasje’ or ‘Amsterdammer’ containing 25cl, approximately
half a pint and the not so traditional Dutch measure – the pint,
containing 56 cl of beer.
Unless you strongly
object, our draft beers are poured with the traditional two fingers
of foam on top.
Of
course we also have a full range of
wines, spirits and
soft drinks, but why not try a glass of the traditional Dutch gin,
Jenever, a strong alcoholic drink produced from the distillation of
malted barley, corn and rye.
If
that doesn’t sound to be quite your thing, what about a pot of
English tea (with real milk) and a couple of chocolate biscuits!
